I Can Tell You How to Get to 22 Sesame Street T-Shirts
I can’t think of anybody who was born after 1969 who did not receive some part of their education from Sesame Street. So to think that they may be facing a financial crisis somewhere down the road, or street, is almost unthinkable. Here’s hoping the government will continue to find a way to keep funding for PBS kids in the budget. I wouldn’t want to see this wonderful cast of characters evicted from the neighborhood.
Though there are some wonderful humans on Sesame Street, it’s all about the Muppets. Specifically the monsters. And though Kermit the Frog may have started out there, his career went in another direction. The folks he left behind are iconic on their own.
The biggest, of course, is Big Bird. More than just a puppet, but more than a person in a costume. This giant yellow-feathered friend should have had kids running to the hills, but Big Bird’s friendly bobbling persona made him look as natural as a pigeon. And this gentle giant was always ready to learn something new.
Big Bird’s not so friendly neighbor is Oscar the Grouch. This green monster residing in a trash can was a great bitter yang to Sesame Street’s happy yin. It’s nice to have a character on a kids’ show who is not all smiles and sunshine. Especially in this day and age, it’s good for kids to be prepared to meet the grouches in the real world.
Upstairs live the infamous Ernie and Bert. Yes, we’ve all made the gay jokes at their expense. But to me, they’ve always shown the power of friendship. That no matter how much your best friend annoys you, you’ll still be there for them.
Then there’s the cavalcade of Monster’s that don’t quite seem to live there, but hang out quite often. Cookie Monster is of course known for his sugar addiction. He’ll do anything to nom, nom, nom some chocolate chip cookies. Doesn’t even seem to be too concerned if they all get in his mouth or not.
Then there’s Grover. The skinny armed blue monster who appears to be a mild mannered waiter by day and Super Grover at night.
Elmo is his distant cousin, who took Sesame Street by storm a few years back. He even got his own segment at the end “Elmo’s World”. And at one time, the Tickle Me Elmo toy was the Christmas gift shoppers were rioting over.
Such a wonderful collection of creatures that entertain children of all ages. And are fun characters for t-shirts for people of all ages. So let me show you how to get, how to get some cool Sesame Street t-shirts.
