17 Universal Monster Mash-Up T-Shirts for Halloween
It’s the most wonderful time of the year… Halloween!!! Time to dress up and have some fun. This time of year would not be complete without the viewing of scary movies. And though we may be living in the time of some great horror films (The Conjuring, Insidious, Paranormal Activity, to name a few), there’s nothing like those classic black and white monster movies from Universal.
Dracula. Frankenstein’s Monster. The Bride of Frankenstein. The Wolf-Man. The Invisible Man. The Creature From the Black Lagoon. The Mummy. The Phantom of the Opera. This League of Extra-Horrifying Characters ruled the cinema screens for nearly 30 years, starting way back in the 1920s.
Universal was kind of like the Marvel of its time. Each character had it’s own series for films, eventually having characters crossing-over franchises. Until finally they all found themselves in comic/horror films featuring Abbott and Costello. Though most of those were well-done, it was still a sign that the films had run their course. Yeah, there have been revisions of all these characters in one form or another, but none of them will last nearly 100 years like these have.
It is the image of these monsters that continues to pop up, especially around Halloween. Such a fun cast of characters on their own, but even more so combined. And in the day of mash-up t-shirts, these monster make for some great ones. I dug up a bunch of my favorites for you to wear this Halloween and beyond.
